Ok... so this isn’t a “Canadian” wedding per say, but it is way too stunning to pass up! This was captured and submitted by the fantastic dou at Nordica Photopgraphy located in Vancouver, BC- so there, Canadian enough for ya?! Thank you to Jakob and Allan for sending this our way!
Check out those adorable flags strung in a row! The colour palette is soft and sweet, and the vibe is totally retro!

If you’ve never been to Stockholm, it’s a real jewel of a city. It’s a photographers dream, let alone a wedding photographer. One of the regions, Södermalm, is perhaps the most gorgeous urban area in the entire country, and where Jessica and Karl’s wedding took place.
The funny thing about the photography for this wedding is how close it was to not happening at all. Neither Jessica or Karl are particularly keen on being photographed (we can relate!) and they were considering not using any professional photographers for their wedding. In the end though, they made the decision, and we feel it was the right one.
Jessica had planned out much of the finer details of their day, including the reception and other intricacies that go along with the special day. They had arranged the venue at Mäster Mikaels Festvåning and aside from that, the aesthetics were in Jessica’s hands for the most part.
One special detail that Jessica seemed to have woven into her wedding theme was the colour blue. Blue is as Swedish as it gets with it being the dominant colour in the flag, and a lot of that has to do with the importance of the ocean to the countries culture. Even the archipelago that Stockholm is built amongst is surrounded by the blue of the sea, and that colour was an underlying theme through the planing of this wedding.
Preparation for Jessica took place mainly at Puder in Stockholm, which is where her hair and makeup was done. Her hair looked absolutely stunning, and the beauty was enhanced by a gorgeous handmade hairpiece and a flawless hair net made by Tied and Feathered over at Etsy. The details were so intricate between her hair and her makeup, she was surely one of the most stunning brides we’d ever photographed.
On the other end of the scale, the groom was certainly looking spiffy in his own right, sporting a Western North Carolina tie from Etsy and looking mighty blue (happy blue though!).
So, the photography that almost never happened turned out to be a success. The bride and groom both looked great, the city itself only enhanced the results and Nordica couldn’t have been happier to do their photography.

Ummm did they just mention Etsy?? :) I certainly hope so! Where else would you get such beautifully handcrafted details?!
As seen on Rock ‘N Roll Bride.
